New Collection Pictures

Over the summer I’ve been slowly piecing together my new display cases for my collection. With the Star Wars Blu Rays coming out on the 16th of September, I made that my goal date to have the display setup by. I managed to get it all done with the exception of one store display piece that I’ve been waiting on from a recent ebay buy.

Here’s a before and after picture to show how the setup has changed and then individual pictures of each shelf.

My Star Wars Site Featured

On Monday, the July episode of The Star Wars Collectors Archive Podcast was released. I was quite pleasantly surprised to hear them mention a recent article that I published on my website, about a mail away promotion that I’ve been researching. Unfortunately, I didn’t win the final auction with the missing piece I had been looking for, but I now know that my theories on the subject were correct.

For anyone that would like to listen to it, I’ve chopped out the except which can be downloaded here.

Mac OS X Lion Review

Today marks the release day of OS X Lion for the Mac and I’ve had the opportunity to try it out over the last few weeks. Gizmodo published a very early negative review, calling it “If it weren’t for the fast, rock-solid Unix, graphics and networking cores, Lion would be Apple’s very own Vista.” Which I personally think their review, wasn’t well thought out and they didn’t do their research on a few things. Having been a mac user for almost a decade now (has it really been that long), I thought I’d share a few of my thoughts about the main features and a few of the not so obvious ones.

WordPress 3.2

WordPress 3.2 came out on July 4th with some great new updates and I figured that was a good reason to finally make a new blog post. There will be a much longer one in the near future once a certain new King of the Jungle OS is released.

I’m really liking the new fullscreen mode in the 3.2. Here’s a video giving a rundown of the new additions.

Star Tours 2 3D Launches

Today at Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida, Star Tours 2 officially opened. The ride looks like a great upgrade with now roughly 50 different possible versions and lots of new places to visit. It looks like the ride will have a good mix between the original movies and the prequel movies, so it should make both generations of fans happy. It will also open at Disneyland on June 3rd which works out perfect for a little vacation we have planned in July. Here’s some videos showcasing the new ride.

And for fun, here’s the original ad for the old ride from the 80′s. I hope at some point the original footage is made available for fans.
