Several weeks ago I ordered two more custom cases for my mail away figures from oscarscases.com Unfortunately when I got them one of the cases had the wrong dimensions for one of the paper inserts. I double checked my measurements and I had sent the right ones, so I promptly sent an email to Oscar showing him the little issue. He said he would get a new one to me, but it would be sent at slower shipping. I was fine with that and thought it would be at least a couple weeks. Today, I received the corrected case and it was perfect. I really love seeing these displayed like this. My only issue is they do take up quite a bit of space, so I might need to go to Ikea soon and get another display case. As of right now I only have two more mail away figures to get cases for. I hope to get those ordered in another month or two. As of right now this is how I have them displayed. The two new cases are the middle ones for Bossk and the Survival Kit.

Luke Jedi Reference Photo
I always like to check out The Earth Toymall website to see what’s new. The really cool thing about The Earth, is they are located right in Cincinnati Ohio, where Kenner’s headquarters was located. Because of this, they get many items from time to time from former employees. Well last week they got in a batch of reference photos, that the Kenner designers would have used to get an idea of how the characters looked for their merchandise. They luckily happened to have 3 of Luke Jedi, but I decided I only needed one. On the site it mentioned that some of the photos had this sticker attached on the back.
Mine arrived last Friday and unfortunately it didn’t have the label. However, it was stamped LFL 1982 on the back, which is a year before Return of the Jedi came out.
I picked this photo because it is near the beginning of the film and is closer in time to the scene photo shown on the cardback which also takes place in Jabba’s Palace. Also, it is an alternate angle from anything seen in the movie. Most of the clips shown in the movie of Luke talking to Bib Fortuna are a medium close up. The photo is also scratched in two places, so they could not be reused for publicity purposes. For anyone interested you can view all the photos that were available at http://theearthtoymall.com/lureph.html Most are sold, but they do still have a few available.
Sega/Sonic Retrospective
GameTap recently did a retrospective on Sonic/Sega. I thought it was pretty interesting especially the interviews with the original creators and also some of the changes they made for American Audiences. It is clear that Sega really wanted a piece of the Nintendo pie and it worked for them, at least for a few years. It is split up into 4 roughly 5 minute chunks.
Full Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Teaser
The full Teaser trailer has now been released online. It clocks in at just a little over 2 minutes long whereas the Super Bowl was only 30 seconds. June can’t get here soon enough.
