Star Wars Insider Hits 100

Next week the 100th issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine hits the news stands. I joined the fan club back in the mid 90s when the magazine took on that name. With the internet taking over like it has I am actually surprised the magazine is still around. I let my subscription lapse a few years ago because the price has risen drastically. When I originally signed up it was $10 to join the fan club and you got 4 issues a year. Now they do bimonthly issues $24.95. I decided I didn’t need a subscription anymore since most of the news I can pick up on the internet. Ocassionaly though there is an article of insterest and I will pick up the news stand copy. Since this is the 100th issue I’ll probably go ahead and get it.

Leopard Launch Picture

While at the Leopard launch at Simply Mac my nephew Justin and I had our pic taken by a photographer. We were asked our names and to show off one of the new features. We decided to bring up the screen for spaces showing all the virtual desktops that were possible. I had figured that the pic was never used as we never saw it show up in any of the local papers. Today I decided to google my name to get an idea of where my site ranks on the list and found the article to a link on USA Today. I think this is the first time that an article has actually had my name spelled right. For those interested it can be viewed at http://www.usatoday.com/travel/cruises/item.aspx?&type=photo&photo_id=08Qf6Su6nC6oA&pn=4&tid=0c1weWxcCd2pM

Video Camera Setup

My setup is now almost complete. Last semester I found out I qualified for the Smart Grant. I figured that would be as good excuse as any to finally invest in some video equipment. Last semester I bought the camera and the 35mm adapter. This semester I picked up the rod supports, lens mount, microphone, and a hard case. I still need to invest in a decent Tripod which I hope to do sometime in the next month or two. This semester for one of my class projects we get to shoot an 8 minute movie. My plan is to use my camera, so I can finally get some action out of it.

We are right now in the preproduction phase of the project. We have a script written and most of our cast. Right now the plan is to shoot over spring break. Anyone that is interested in helping out we will gladly take it. Our group is small compared to most. Just me and one other person.

I will continue to update as we get further along.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Here is the first pic of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the new movie coming out next year. It is looking like it will live up to the hype. Wolverine was always one of my favorite characters when I used to watch the cartoon back in the early 90′s. I was glad he was the main focus in the X-Men movies and that now he is getting his own movie.
