Prime Restoration

I finally took some pics of my Optimus Prime restoration project. The first 2 pictures are before pictures and the rest are after. My Prime was missing all removable pieces except for one of the missles. I luckily found a buy it now prime on ebay that had all the parts I needed. I replaced the smokestacks with reproductions from the website agesthreeandup.com I also lucked out with finding a sticker sheet for one of the reissues on ebay, so all new stickers as well. The box is from one of the recent Chinese knock off Primes, but is very close to the original.

The photos can be seen in the photo gallery

It was fun to take one of my favorite old toys and restore it to its former glory.

Life Size Yakface On Ebay

Pictures of this yakface were posted about a month ago over at rebelscum.com, but it looks like the owner has decided to let it go. It was originally going to be on display at their booth for C4, but it wasn’t finished on time. I know they were originally thinking about having it displayed in their store, but because of laws or something they were going to have to bolt it down, so that is probably why they have decided to just sell it. The same store had a couple of POTF coin sets for sale that were supposed to be at c4 including an executive set which I was hoping to see in person since so few exist, but unfortunately it sold already and was not on display.

DHL Woes

I have never been a fan of DHL. It seems like every time I have something coming from them that they screw it up one way or another. My latest expereience is with my video camera. I noticed yesterday morning that my camera had made it to their center in American Fork in the morning. I figured it would be on the truck and ready to deliver the same day. That was not the case. Since I knew that I wouldn’t be home today or tomorrow to get the package Sarah and I decided to go and get it. We went in and there is no one manning the front desk. Just a bell. So Sarah rang the bell and we waited about 10 minutes before someone came to help us and at the same time a line with a couple of other people behind us formed. The DHL lady told me that it was in some kind of a holding box, so she could not get my package and that it would probably be Wednesday before it would come because that is the ETA date. Are you kidding me! My package has to sit about 5 miles away from my home for 2 days because of a ETA date. That is the biggest joke. Fedex, UPS, and even USPS would not do anything like that. If the package was here they would deliver it. Here is a pic of my tracking info.

Update: I just found out from Sarah that it was delivered, so I did get it a day early, but it still seems stupid to me that it had to sit there for 24 hours. Continue reading

BSOD in Halo 3

Looks like someone at Microsoft has a sense of humor. This screen capture was posted today that shows some computer monitors in Halo 3 with a Blue Screen Of Death. I hope I get a chance to play the game sometime soon. My nephew managed to get a copy early.

Make Your Own Master Chief

Halo 3 is now 5 days away, but in the meantime if you have a lot of patience and time you can make your own 13″ tall master chief out of paper. THe instructions and a preview of what it looks like can be downloaded at http://billybob884.deviantart.com/art/Master-Chief-Assembled-64893585

However, if you just want a copy of the game early a seller on Craigslist already has it.
