The Collection is Complete

Today Yak Face came from the Netherlands. Another one has been imported to the states. It is great to see every spot on the shelf now filled. It is crazy to think that I started this venture around ’93. Here is a pic of the display case filled and of Yak Face.

First Day Of School

Well today Summer is officially over. As usual I’m not ready and wish it was a little longer. It was a fun summer though with our cruise and Celebration IV trips. I’m hoping this semester won’t be too bad, but we’ll see. All my classes this semester are upper division except for one. Luckily I only have classes Monday thru Thursday, so besides working on Friday, I have almost an extended weekend. Some of my classes are almost two hours though. Tonight we are going to see the movie Super Bad. I have been hearing that it is pretty funny. It will be a good way to get through the first day of school blues. :)

Star Wars Commercial DVD

Today I received my Star Wars commercial DVD from a fellow member on rebelscum. The nice thing about this DVD is that most of the commercials were taken from the original 8mm and 16mm film rather than copies of copies from old VHS tapes like many of the other commercial DVDs. I sat down and watched most of them already. I found one that I thought in particular was a good representation of the 70′s. The guy with the brown suit and the cheesy music. It’s classic. I ripped it and put it up at http://kemple.servepics.com/~optix/boba.movEnjoy!

Ring Of Death!!!!!!

Well today Sarah turned on the Xbox 360 and got the infamous ring of death. It has been almost two years since we got the 360, so I was hoping we would avoid it. My warranty is already voided, so sending it to Microsoft was out of the question. I looked up the error code and found out it was related to the GPU. I also found out that whoever applied many of the heat sinks left the little tin foil strip attached that covered the paste, so it basically wasn’t conducting the heat at all. Luckily I found a fix on the great internet. I followed the tutorial on the X-Clamp replacement found at http://360hax.com/page.php?9. It took me most of the evening including a trip to Lowes for the necessary tools, but as of 11:20 tonight it has been running for more than 30 minutes just like normal. Longer than it ever has during the day today. Hopefully it keeps working. I might look into an attachment fan.
